Cause for Alarm

Fire Safety is not the same for everyone

As a world leader in fire safety, we want to rally everyone around this cause.

People everywhere deserve to feel safe and protected at home. That’s why Kidde, the owner of Australia brand Quell, created Cause For Alarm – a fire education and safety initiative addressing fire safety gaps. We’re on a mission to provide all communities with the necessary support, educational resources and product solutions needed to have a safe and healthy home.

On average, more than one person dies in house fires each week in Australia.1

73% of all house fire fatalities have started out in the bedroom or loungeroom, and the majority have been caused by cigarettes or similar smoking materials.2

Socioeconomic situations, age, disabilities and other factors dramatically impact the risk of fire related deaths.3

Fatal residential fires in Australia occur most commonly between the hours’ of 8pm-8am, particularly from midnight to 4am.4
